To use the Wella colorcharm Lightener, you'll need the following items: Wella colorcharm Lightener, Wella colorcharm Toner T18, a bowl and brush, gloves, a towel, an old t-shirt, a protective barrier cream (such as coconut oil), and a timer.

For a root touch-up, mix 1 part Wella colorcharm Lightener with 2 parts 20-volume developer, and apply it to the new growth, making sure not to overlap with previously lightened hair. Process for 30 minutes or until the roots have reached a light yellow. Then, mix 1 part Wella colorcharm Lightener with 2 parts 10-volume developer and apply it to the mid-length and ends. Process for an additional 20 minutes until the hair is pale yellow. Rinse and shampoo.

For first-time lightening, divide the hair into four sections and secure them with clips. Start applying the lightener on the back section, 1/2 inch away from the scalp, taking 1/4-inch partings to ensure proper saturation. Apply the lightener to all four sections and process for 20 minutes. Finally, apply the lightener to the roots and process until achieving a light pale blonde. Shampoo and condition.

The toning step involves mixing 1 part Wella colorcharm Toner T18 with 2 parts 20-volume developer, applying it from roots to ends, and processing for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water, emulsify gently until the water runs clear, and then shampoo and condition.
